THE ST GEORGE ‘ALIGHT HERE’ BALCONY GARDEN
RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2024
AWARDED A GOLD MEDAL
Inspired by florist Lee Miller's guerrilla displays arranged in bins around New York City to create something special from the everyday using reclaimed and repurposed materials from urban life: railway sleepers, rubbish bins, bricks and ice buckets.
Titled ‘Alight Here’, the balcony provides a space to escape the routine of day to day life in London and ‘take the weight off’. The garden creates a relaxing but playful atmosphere, like a welcoming local pub. An ideal space for a morning cup of coffee or an after-work drink.
PLANT LIST:

The balcony garden was relocated to Chelsea Creek where it could inspire residents to create their own sanctuaries.
